Sabriel- Lizardbreath's Review

This book is really, really good but it is really complicated to explain, so I'll just try to explain the basics. Okay, this book is about a girl, Sabriel, who lives in a world that's kind of split in two. On one side is a world that's pretty much like ours but on the other side of this huge wall, is almost another world, where there's magic and stuff. It's also more medieval than the other world, because eletronics and things don't work on this side of the Wall. Sabriel lives at a boarding school in the 'normal' world. Her father is what's called the Abhorsen. Abhorsens use bells to go into death, they use their bells for good things and put the dead, evil necromancers have raised, back to rest. You see there's two types of magics in this world, Charter Magic and Free Magic. Charter Magic is good and Free Magic is most often bad. Necromancers use free magic and raise the dead and do lots of evil things. Abhorsens, and most other people in this world, use Charter Magic. Sabriel is the Abhorsen-in-waiting and is living a good life at the boarding school, until one day a Dead creature appears, giving Sabriel her father's bells and sword. Sabriel decides her father is stuck in Death and has to save him. This is not as easy as it may seem.....This book is really good even though it is a tiny bit freaky and gross, what with dead stuff and all. Anyways, I still recommend you DEFINITELY read this book!!! Click here for some more about the book and what the cover of the book looks like.
