- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone -

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first book in the HP series. It starts off with the Dursleys, a boring, normal family. There's Vernon Dursley, Petunia Dursley, and their incredibly spoiled son, Dudley Dursley. Late one night, three strangers arrive at 4 Privet Drive where the Dursleys live. They leave a baby, Harry on the Dursley's front step. Since that night, Harry Potter, the son of Petunia's sister Lily and her husband James, has been living with the Dursleys.

The Dursleys really don't like Harry. For eleven years, he has lived in the cupboard under the stairs. Strange things happen to Harry when he's scared or angry, and he doesn't know why, until one day a letter arrives for Harry. The Dursleys take the letter from him, and are very upset by it. They keep getting more and more letters, until they escape to a small hut on a little island. The night they arrive on the island, it happens to be Harry's birthday, he is awake at midnight when Hagrid arrives at the hut. Hagrid is Keeper of the Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardary. Hagrid comes in and gives Harry his letter and explains to him that his parents were a witch and wizard, and that Harry is off to study magic at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardary. He also tells Harry that his parents were murdered by a wizard named Voldemort. He tried to murder Harry as well, but Harry survived and ended up destroying Voldemort.

The Dursleys aren't happy about it, but they end up sending Harry to Hogwarts. There, he has MANY adventures, meets his friends Ron and Hermione, and ends up having tro battle Voldemort one more time......If you want more specific details, pick up the book and....READ IT!!!
