HP Celebrations

As many of you know (and you may not if you're a bit slow) the Harry Potter movie came out on November 16!!!! **OHHHHHHH! AHHHHH!** But, waitaminute! That means that it's already out! Oh dear....you're not very festive at all! Want to show you true colors even if you didn't have them for the opening? Then we have many solutions to make your school more festive(and more specialer all around. And yes, I know specialer isn't a word) for the movie or when ever you darn well feel like it!!!!You could even have a.....HARRY POTTER WEEK!!!!!YAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few ways that you can get your school involved in the opening of the new movie:

  1. Try out the muggle version of quidditch! With the quaffle, bludgers, and snitch, you'll have everyone wanting to see the movie! It may seem a bit unorganised at first, but we tried it and it does work! If you need the rules then go to:

  2. Have a Harry Potter look-alike contest! Get a group of judges together and get people to dress up like their favorite characters from the movie! You could even give a prize away to the best-dressed contestant! It's great fun and if you display your classmates dressed in funny clothes to the whole school, you'll probably get a good laugh out of it too!

  3. Have a gillyweed eating contest(not REAL gillyweed)! Get people to eat slimy, icky squishy and sticky gillyweed-like gummyworms, while being blind-folded, and just sit back and watch in satisfaction the looks of pure disgust on their faces as they try to stomach something disgusting! Great for big groups cuz lots of people can do it at once, as long as you have enough gummy worms!!

  4. Have a Harry Potter triva game! Test your friends knowledge on the 4 HP books with questions you make up yourself!(ie. when is ron's birthday?) Good game to play in groups and at parties so each group can take a turn asking questions to the other! Just don't ask questions you don't know the answer to;).

  5. Play charades-HP style! Try and act out your favorite Harry Potter characters, and make your friends take a guess at who you might be! Fun to play, fun to watch. Just plain fun in general. But beware-I always get the hiccups when I play this game from laughing too much!!

  6. Have a Harry Potter parade! Run around your school in silly costumes with silly signs singing silly songs for some fun-and some embarrasment! Make sure you get permission to do this one first!;)
