So here's the links to the parts of the page about Harry stuff.......
Whoa, describing Harry Potter....that could be a BIG job, so I'll just give you the basics. The book starts off with the Dursleys, a boring, pretty stupid, average family. They have one son, until one night Harry arrives on their doorstep. Harry's life with the Dursleys is, to put it mildly, unpleasant, they don't like him and he lives in the cupboard under the stairs. One day a letter arrives addressed to him, the letters keep coming until finally a man named Hagrid arrives to deliver the message personally, Harry is a WIZARD!!! Cool eh? Harry's life changes from then on. He goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and makes friends. Oh, he also discovers he's famous in the wizarding world.....I won't tell you anymore because I don't want to ruin it for you....just READ THE BOOK!!!!!!
Okay, so here's the low-down on wizarding money. Wizard money is VERY different from our money. They have only three types of coins galleons, which are woth the most, sickles, which are the second highest-worth coins, and knuts, which are worth the least. There are 17 sickles in a galleon and 29 knuts to a sickle. You know, I've always wondered how many knuts are in a galleon, but the books have never said........
Here's a list of some important characters in the HP books........
A Brief Explanation of Quidditch
Quidditch, so far the ONLY sport of the wizarding world. You wanna know how it works? Okay, its complicated, there are 7 players(who play on broomsticks, in the air) who play with 4 balls. The balls are the quaffle, which the three chasers(like fowards) throw around and try to score with, the 2 bludgers, which hurtle around the field, trying to knock players off their brooms. The beaters try to keep the bludgers from hitting the other players with club-like bat thingys. The last ball is the golden snitch, which flies around VERY fast, its the job of the seeker to catch the snitch. Catching it earns 150 points and that team usually wins. There is also a keeper, who's job is to keep guard the nets. The nets are VERY tall posts with hoops on the ends of them where you score(picture a hoola-hoop on a stick). Each goal earns that team 10 points. The game is very fast-paced and dangerous and being athletically challenged and afraid of heights, I would NOT like to play it;)
YUM, YUM, YUM!!! Candy, yummy stuff, I'll give you a list of all the wizarding candy I can think of(why you would need this list, I don't know, but....).....
Well, those are all the ones I can think of for now. If you have another one just e-mail it to us. They also have normal candy, like chocolate and stuff, but the ones I listed have special effects, or they're just not your normal everyday candy;)
A FEW Animals in Harry's World
Okie dokie, animals.. let's see, I'll give you a list of the animals I can think of that are mentioned in the HP books(along with my comments;)). For their descripitions, look in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' a VERY good book, written by J.K. Rowling to raise money for a charity called 'Comic Relief'. Its really funny because its supposed to be one of Harry's textbooks and it has notes from him and Ron and Hermione in it. Anyways, here's the list...
So that's the list, in handy alphabetical order;) If you have one we missed our e-mail is above
